Testimonial

Dear Suzanne, Hank, all,

Jim & I always appreciated the way things were done for my dad at the Guest Home.  We could see the love and attention he received.  We felt the love from your notes on your card.  He was such a sweet man his whole life.

I've lost the love of my life, and Jim lost the "rock" of his past years with Dad, he was always there for him.

Thanks,

Charlotte

End of Life Care

We Provide Hospice Services in Our Home.

  • Olivenhain Guest Home offers a new wing designed for optimal Hospice Care. The new rooms are larger allowing for more specialized equipment. There is a seperate dining/activity  room for those needing more assistance with eating and activities. The entire wing is surrounded by gardens with color all year long.
  • Old man walking with his sons arm around him.
  • Palliative care (or palliative medicine) is the prevention and relief of suffering by a specialized medical team that focuses on managing symptoms, relieving pain and improving quality of life, whatever the diagnosis.
  • Hospice care is a form of palliative care.  It usually refers to the care of patients with a life expectancy of six months or less.  It’s the term used by Medicare and other health agencies to describe the kind of team-based care that focuses on comfort, quality of life, pain and symptom relief.

Hospice provides Doctors, Nurses, drugs and medical equipment at our home to help our patients approach the end of their lives with dignity and comfort in a caring environment sensitive to their needs.

We help our patients achieve physical and emotional comfort so they can concentrate on living life as fully as possible.

Patients are urged to:

  • Stay active as long as they are able
  • Take part in activities they enjoy
  • Do something they have always wanted to do

No one should die alone, afraid or in pain. Hospice provides peace, comfort and caring to terminally ill people and their families. Hospice treats the person, not the disease.

We help our residents and their relatives with hospice referrals in this difficult and sad time.
