About the Olivenhain Neighborhood

Olivenhain is a close-knit community committed to preserving its heritage and culture. The active Town Council, which oversees local building projects and community initiatives, welcomes participation from all residents - including those at RanchView and their families. We value our ongoing partnership with the council, which began during RanchView's establishment and continues to strengthen our connection to the broader Olivenhain community.
History Dating Back to the 1880s
In German, Olivenhain translates to “olive grove.” The area was initially settled by a German community in the late 1800s. The original community meeting hall is still standing and is actually located right next to RanchView Senior Assisted Living. The historic hall is used to this day for multiple community events including the annual Olivenhain Haunted House, Olivenhain Craft Fair, and the lively Olivenhain Oktoberfest.

Respite Care in San Diego
At RanchView, we offer respite care accommodations. This program enables family caregivers to take time to rest, recover from stress, and restore much-needed balance in their lives. We offer this service to individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia for a limited stay in our memory care community. This gives family caregivers temporary relief from caregiving responsibilities without requiring families to make an immediate decision about long-term care.
